This morning I went for a walk. I met Betty, who lives near the bridge on the canal. She was sweeping and waiting for her little Shitzu, Angel to return from her walk with Wendy. Wendy walks Angel every morning for $3.00 and sometime she walks five dogs at a time. Betty told me that her house flooded in the 1974 flood, and after that they poured concrete into the dining/lounge area to raise the level. Betty was born in 1925 and lived with her family in Glen Waverley, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.. At that time Glen Waverley was farming land and although her family had lots of fruit trees she can remember pinching plums from the neighbours' trees.
