4:31 AM - New Thermostats will Change the World

iPod "godfather" Tony Fadell has unveiled his latest product, a thermostat that adjusts the room temperature based on people's habits, three years after his shock resignation from Apple.

The former Apple exec who created the iPod and worked on the iPhone has been toiling for the last year and a half in near-total secrecy on making thermostats as cool as the iconic gadgets from Apple. In 2010, Fadell set up his own company, Nest Labs, with former iPhone software manager Matt Rogers, putting together an impressive team of engineers.

In essence, the device programs itself by learning from user behavior, and it does so, "through a combination of sensors, algorithms, machine learning, and cloud computing." The company said that the device offers tips to help users make energy-saving choices.

"Nest tracks the temperatures you typically set and guides you to more energy-efficient ones, displaying the green Nest Leaf as a reward when you set the temperature to a more energy-efficient setting," the company said in a statement. "The Auto-Away feature uses sensors to detect when you're not home, lowering the temperature and saving energy. You can also check Energy History to see how much you saved." May be some days the will transfer ipod songs to mac just use sensors to know what kind of the music will health to your body. So amazing!

It's also WiFi-enabled, allowing users to control it from a computer or through your iPhone with an iPhone app (that's not yet available). In keeping with Mr. Fadell's iPod past, the device is controlled through one rotating outer ring.

"It was unacceptable to me that the device that controls 10 percent of all energy consumed in the U.S. hadn't kept up with advancements in technology and design," Tony Fadell, said. "Together with the team, Cofounder Matt Rogers and I set out to reinvent the thermostat using advanced technologies, high-quality manufacturing processes and the thoughtful design elements the iPhone generation has come to expect. The resulting Nest Learning Thermostat is like no other thermostat on the market. We hope it will not only save money and energy, but that it will teach and inspire people to think more about how they can reduce home- energy consumption." This is not like ipod converter for mac for just creating apps. For more this will be list in the later Tony Fadell's blogs.

The company was founded by Mr. Fadell, who serves as CEO, as well as Matt Rogers, another former Apple engineer.Nest Learning Thermostat is priced at US$249. The company hasn't offered up a release date yet, but it is available for pre-order at the Nest website or through Best Buy.

I assume it learns from what time you walk past the thermostat so it will start warming up before you wake next time.   I can totally see myself stressing over trying to out-game the thing to do what I want…

Nest Labs now employs around 100 staff, including former employees of Apple, Google, Twitter and Microsoft. It has also secured funding from some of the largest venture capitalists in Silicon Valley, including Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Google Ventures and Shasta Ventures.

Nest Labs recently unveiled the Learning Thermostat, a home appliance that readjusts the temperature based on the presence of people and their habits.

The device senses movement, so it automatically turns down if people are away from their home for a certain period of time. It also senses when room lights are switched on.

While the still some unknown questions. In my opinion. It's very cool looking. Definitely a wow compared to any other thermostat I've ever seen. But where are the sensors? Does it require placing motion sensors all over your house?   Or does it only know you're up when you walk past the thermostat?   (Just trying to find hidden costs, I'm a normal people. Now still like do things is to transfer ipod movies to mac and enjoy at anywhere or anytime with the super clear mac. etc.).But here I still looking forward to this invention can change the world again. It will bring the life more colors.

3:59 AM - Witness the iPod Growing

iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and launched on October 23, 2001. The product line-up includes the hard drive-based iPod Classic, the touchscreen iPod Touch, the video-capable iPod Nano, and the compact iPod Shuffle. The iPhone can function as an iPod but is generally treated as a separate product.

Former iPod models include the iPod Mini and the spin-off iPod Photo (since reintegrated into the main iPod Classic line). iPod Classic models store media on an internal hard drive, while all other models use flash memory to enable their smaller size (the discontinued Mini used a Microdrive miniature hard drive). As with many other digital music players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices. Storage capacity varies by model. The product was developed in less than one year and unveiled on 23 October 2001. Jobs announced it as a Mac-compatible product with a 5 GB hard drive that put "1,000 songs in your pocket." You could not miss the chance to transfer ipod songs to mac. When you lost all your music by accident, you can get it all back fast and easy. So, people begin fall in love with this ipod.

iPods have also gained popularity for use in education. Apple offers more information on educational uses for iPods on their website, including a collection of lesson plans. There has also been academic research done in this area in nursing education and more general K-16 education. Duke University provided iPods to all incoming freshmen in the fall of 2004, and the iPod program continues today with modifications.

Apple did not develop the iPod software entirely in-house, instead using PortalPlayer's reference platform based on 2 ARM cores. The platform had rudimentary software running on a commercial microkernel embedded operating system. PortalPlayer had previously been working on an IBM-branded MP3 player with Bluetooth headphones. Apple contracted another company, Pixo, to help design and implement the user interface under the direct supervision of Steve Jobs. As development progressed, Apple continued to refine the software's look and feel. Starting with the iPod Mini, the Chicago font was replaced with Espy Sans. Later iPods switched fonts again to Podium Sans-a font similar to Apple's corporate font, Myriad. iPods with color displays then adopted some Mac OS X themes like Aqua progress bars. This version can transfer ipod movies to mac. No matter where, you can enjoy the super clear movies directly. The another important things is brushed metal evoke a combination lock. In 2007, Apple modified the iPod interface again with the introduction of the sixth-generation iPod Classic and third-generation iPod Nano by changing the font to Helvetica and, in most cases, splitting the screen in half by displaying the menus on the left and album artwork, photos, or videos on the right.

In September 2007, during the course of a lawsuit with patent holding company Burst.com, Apple drew attention to a patent for a similar device that was developed in 1979. Kane Kramer patented the idea of a "plastic music box" in 1979, which he called the IXI. iPods often receive favorable reviews; scoring on looks, clean design, and ease of use. PC World says that iPod line has "altered the landscape for portable audio players". Several industries are modifying their products to work better with both the iPod line and the AAC audio format. Examples include CD copy-protection schemes, and mobile phones, such as phones from Sony Ericsson and Nokia, which play AAC files rather than WMA.

5:18 AM - Apple Plans to Put the iPod and iPhone into a Karaoke

Today, I saw the newspaper and found that apple plans to put the ipod and iphone into a karaoke .It make me happy. In the paper said the device will allow users to choose their favorite songs hum along, and suggest that there is a video screen lyrics and, very much like traditional "kara ok" player. If their pitch and tones have a good command in place, will obtain the reward, their voice will be converted into a very good concert hall effect.

According to England "daily telegraph" 21 days to report, apple plans to the iPod music player and it smart phone iPhone into a mobile "kara ok" player, soon these gadgets can teach people sing their favorite songs. It found worldwide success by inventing a device that transformed the way people listened to music. Now a patent application submitted by Apple has revealed its plans to help teach amateur singers how to hit the right pitch and key by ipod and iPhone 。 This Kara can make you music to computer compare. When you singing the songs. The will start transferring music from ipod to computer at the some time.

There is also good news for those forced to listen: the technology will be able to make off-key warbling sound in-tune 。 The device will allow users to select their favorite songs to sing along to, displaying the words as a video on screen much like traditional karaoke machines 。 As the user sings, however, the iPod will analyze their voice, comparing it with how the song is supposed to sound and providing them with feedback if they are off key to help them correct their performance 。 If the singer hits the pitch and key perfectly, then they will be rewarded by having their performance enhanced to give a concert hall effect that is pleasing to listen to 。 But when they are off key or sing at the wrong pitch, the device will exaggerate their mistake so that they can hear it in a pair of earphones they are wearing 。

The system would also be able to change the output from the speakers, if the singer was performing in front of an audience, so they did not have to endure bad singing. Instead it would "fuzz" the singer ' s voice to disguise the fact they are off key 。 The patent also proposes allowing users to record their performances and edit them later, while a digital sound wave read out would also allow them to see how they had performed compared to the original 。 You can transfer songs from ipod to computer to keeping later compared with your right voice. It will help you sing well quickly.

Apple refused to comment on how it intends to develop the patent and when its karaoke system will be available on the market, but the company's online music store sells music under a category of karaoke.Tracks include popular karaoke favorites by artists such as MC Hammer, Blondie, The Beach Boys and Tina Turner 。

If you are an iPod user, a software which allows you to copy song from ipod to itunes is necessary. With this kind of software, you can easily share the iPod songs with friends, and even set the iPod music to be the ringtone of your iPhone. I looking forward this come ture.
