3:31 AM - Halloween is Coming, Do You Dare to Watch Do Not Be Afraid of the Dark?

Guys, it's Halloween, so what's your plan, except dressing weird costumes to scare other people or go to Halloween party? How about watching horrible movies with friends and screaming or laughing (sorry, some horrible movies just like comedies to me) together? It's also pretty "Halloween", so if you want to do that, do you have any idea that what horrible movies are horrific enough? Maybe you should try "Don't be afraid of the dark", turn off the lights sitting on the couch, enjoy the creepy film or copy it to your portable devices with best video converter, anyway, enjoy the ghastful time as you wish.

Except the horrible part, Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes, they may the important factors that attract more fans to watch this movie. Come on, who is Katie's husband? Tom Cruise, so we buy it. Anyway, the most important part we concern is still the story, so here is storyline. Introverted Sally Hurst (Bailee Madison) has just moved in with her father Alex (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) when she realizes that their sprawling estate holds its fair share of secrets. Ascending to the depths of the house, Sally gains access to a secret lower level that has lain undisturbed for nearly a century, when the original builder vanished without a trace. When Sally accidentally opens the gateway that kept the creatures locked up tight, she realizes that in order to prevent them from destroying her family is to convince her skeptical father than monsters really exist. Confronted with the horror that now threatens to taker her life and destroy her family, Sally desperately tries to warn the whole house, but there's just one problem: no one believes her.

Gloomy, sinister, shot through with a pervasive sense of unease and swathed in oppressive darkness, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark is perfectly poised horror that revels in its gloomy atmospherics. Co-written by Guillermo Del Toro and Matthew Robbins, it has echoes of Pan's Labyrinth in both its unsettling tone and earthy colour palette. Like del Toro's 2006 film, the story revolves around a troubled girl who, unable to connect with her surroundings, seeks solace in fantastical companions. Unfortunately, this is also where Don't… loses some of its bite. Once the evil basement-dwellers are revealed (at around the halfway point) the scares dry up, and the bleeding of the fantasy aspects into real-world settings jars a little. But this isn't enough to spoil Troy Nixey's artfully shot and thoroughly entertaining directorial debut, a film that'll give you second thoughts about relocating to that country pile. Although it's a little stereotyped, but it's still a time killer to watch on your portable devices after converting it with mac video converter when you feel bored.

And here is another story about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Tom Cruise was so scared after watching wife Katie Holmes in her latest movie, the horror thriller Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, that he had to watch another, less frightening film before he could go to sleep. "I'm not sure what he watched," laughs Katie, who screened her new project for him at their home in Los Angeles. "Maybe The Sound Of Music!" Actually, I don't think Tom Cruise is so yellow-bellied, probably it's just a method to propagandize this film.
