Add the PDF files to your iTunes library on your computer
Select your iOS device in the Devices list on the left in iTunes
Click the Books tab
Make sure that the Sync Books checkbox is checked
Click Sync

You'll be even more well read once you get your hands on iBooks. Download the iBooks app from the App Store. Load up on books from the iBookstore.
