Collect your materials - for this costume you will need : Two pairs of over the knee socks in white - these can be purchased from any stores that sell socks and gloves or often little pop up stalls at your local shopping center. You will also need fabric paint in the colors of red, gold and silver. About two meters of lace of for the rimming of Asuna's arm sleeves and for the hem of the "coat". You will need to pick up from an op shop a white old fashioned dress- one that is preferably sleeveless and down to the floor- if you can't find one of these create this vest plus half skirt using a pattern and purchasable material from your local craft store. You will also need- Velcro about half a meter, two meters of red material, two meters of white material, some drawing paper, two meters of wide gold ribbon, 4 meters of red ribbon a pair of scissors, a sewing machine, some paintbrushes and a lead pencil.

 

Take your white dress and cut off the collar. Later reattach this using a sewing machine to achieve Asuna's high collared top. You may need to seek help doing this - as my aunt did this for me. If you couldn't find a white dress that is sleeveless and button up - two white business shirts will also work for this. With the business shirt pup up the collar and cut it off - reattaching it to achieve the high collar yet again and cut off the skirts sleeves leaving you with what looks a bit like a vest.

 

Once this step is complete put the shirt on and pulls across one side of the shirt as if you're doing up a bathrobe. Once it is fitted across your body the way you want it to be, mark where it lines up with a lead pencil.
