11:10 AM - Umm... Finally!
It's been confirmed by Apple and the Beatles - the entire Beatles catalog will be available on iTunes soon.
I wonder how their court case is going...

I replied to the rank thread on stealthy's site.
One of the users was a bit condensing and threw his supposed age in the thread. Plus he's an idiot - no way in hell could a hosting company offer a full 100 mbit /sec external connection. Plus if they had the speed, you're sharing with n people.
I really hate stupid comments. Oh don't justify your stupidity by saying you mean something else by 2k. Obviously you meant 2 GB of ram, because otherwise you have the slowest ET server known to mankind.

I'm tired, exhausted and really want to curl up in a corner. To make matters worse, my boss emailed me about magma soft. I suspect my co-sysadmin promised magma soft to two students and failed to mention this to me. So now instead of crashing after class, I will have to go into the lab and find out what the fuck is happening (or not happening).
Last night I ended up dealing a professor with a projector problem and a confused TA. The TA dropped off his machine at our lab instead of the sysadmin responsible for his computer. So now our sorry asses need to track the sysadmin down.
In addition I need to write more today. At least I had enough sense to grab some motrin on the way to class.

My MIL sent me a reply to an email three times. I'm scared to open any of the replies...

Luke had jury duty today. He had to report by 9 am, but he was home by 10:15 am. Someone did a last minute plea, and Luke's group was excused.
I'm guessing I'm not having a quiz today (I didn't see the professor bring any papers in, just his laptop). However next Tuesday I have an assignment and exam.
This afternoon I need to go to GradFair. Basically GradFair at WMU is when you can order your robes and graduation announcements. Since I will be getting my master's, I will have to order a robe, cap, tassle (not as exciting as it seems) and master's hood. I'm guessing the hood is adding $20 to the total cost. Since the other stuff is basically the same as the bachelor's degree. I need to order 14 announcements. One announcement for myself, the others for relatives.
Luke wants to get a haircut today and possibly pizza for dinner. (Pizza the dinner of champions)

I have a quiz at the end of class, but first we have a lecture. We're discussing more on TCP.
I need to work on my project today. I'd like to finish up my RSS reader code. I'm having a slight (ok somewhat major) bug with escape characters, but once that's fixed I can comment the code and do the final packaging.
It's supposed to snow this afternoon and evening. :(
At least tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. Bailey's is usually on sale. :)
I found out that my next payment on my undergrad loans will be due May 2nd. :( It's not that big but still...

The preferences file is fixed in non-Windows systems. I need to write a patch for Windows systems. I should test the application on Luke's computer.

The lab is close to 80 degress in the office. The open lab is probably at least 5 degrees warmer.
I am seriously hoping that FG and / or FalconStudios decides to pony up some money to cover the server costs. If they don't help us out soon, they both may be without a server in a few months. If I get a job close to my graduation, the server costs won't be a huge deal right away. However starting in November I will need to start repayment (again) on my student loans. I'm estimating my loan payments (both undergrad and grad loans) will be more than my car payment and auto insurance combined. Hopefully it won't be equal or more than my rent. :) I prefer rent to be the largest check I write every month.
I want to fix a preferences bug in the Java JJ client before I release the next alpha. I suspect the problem lies with file permissions (all the preferences are written to a flat file).

The power went out in the apartment before I left for class. I didn't see Luke when I went to get some coffee before class either. :(
The lecture is on the transport layer. We've covered UDP and we're starting to cover "reliable" protocols (aka building up to TCP).
I had to turn a project checkpoint report. Basically write a brief report on what I have done, and what needs to be done.
So far today in terms of my master's project, I finished up the last few steps (packaging, commenting) on HttpPostRequest java package. So my appendix already has 7 or 8 pages. LOL.
I should post some of my Java code. It's quite clean and usually runs. I definitely should post my TCP email code (I did for a recent assignment), it was trival. However for new Java programmers, it might be useful.

I already had the required budget meeting today. That was a riot! Ok, it wasn't. In summary, we're fucked.
I think I didn't have lunch yet. I had some cereal this morning and then I had the rest of the breadsticks from last night. If I go home and have lunch, there's no way I can convince myself to come back to work.
Looks like Luke isn't have a fun, pleasant day at work himself. Normally I'd be freaking out but I feel rather relaxed at the moment.

My prof just told us that he's disappointed with our exam results. Great. The best score was 64 / 65 and I know it wasn't me. I just hope my exam doesn't suck.
I heard Luke's class got their midterms back today. No one opened the door for him today. He wasn't feeling well and I felt the whole experience didn't help him.
One of the undergrads in my class asked about grad school. I don't know if he would make it at grad school, even at WMU.
Talked to a recruiter this morning. That did not help my mood. Once I'd like to talk to a recruiter who actually listened to me.

South Dakota's governor made the news. He signed a bill banning abortion in all cases, except to safe the mother. This bill will be tied up in our court system for years. This is a half-baked attempt on the part of the pro-life movement to outlaw abortion. I like to think of it as the pro-life movement trying to help the wire coat hanger industry myself.
Yep, the pro-life movement wants to kill women. Illegal abortion is dangerous and no one knows how many women die from complications due to illegal abortions. However the pro-life movement must not consider the blood of "murderers, sluts and whores" worth a damn. By the way I used their terms for women who have abortions.
Some of these psychos wants to get rid of birth control completely. According to these crazies, birth control is abortion. By not letting oneself to get pregnant (or cause one in the case of men), we are somehow pissing God off.
To the crazy ladies who protest in front of the local planned parenthood:
I am sorry that I do not accept my husband's seed to make babies. I apologize for offending you by not devoting my life to making babies. I apologize for thinking all women deserve the right to make their own reproductive decisions. I am sorry that you are too narrow minded to see past your own life.

I'm wasting time right now. There's so much I could be doing that frankly I am not.
I didn't expect to be so tired today. I think the semester is wearing on me.
I'm testing the latest and greatest client.

More P2P discussion...
We're supposed to start socket programming today. ::yawns::
We were assigned the 2nd homework assignment.
Sadly my computer is not done yet. :(

Luke put the Java version back up.
I'm sitting in class, learning about P2P protocols and networks. It sounds more fun than it is. :)
