10:03 AM - My class was cancelled this morning

I just felt like writing that as the subject. It's actually a good thing since I haven't had any opportunity to go over last lecture's notes (prof likes pop quizzes).

8:37 AM - Please keep the yard apes at home...

Yesterday was almost pleasant. I did have to take a pop quiz yesterday, not fun but hopefully I will receive a few points. :)

I decided to purchase some tea for the upcoming bridal shower and an outfit for the party. Not a really tall order to fill, but somehow took several hours to complete. Eventually I gave up on finding an outfit (later I did though with Luke's help). My new outfit is a dark red skirt (with brown in the pattern as well) with a beige v-neck sweater.

Luke and I also had dinner at the mall. The group a few tables away was ummm... interesting. I could deal with the child who was throwing silverware and even broke a plate. The mother should have realized it was a sign the child is not old enough to behave in a restaurant. Not really the baby's fault (yes I wrote baby), at most the baby was a few months old.

The 12 year old yard ape ... he annoyed the hell out of me. Apparently after 30 minutes, he "got bored and wanted to do something." He informed his mother (I assume) that he was bored. She ignored him. He stood up, walked out of the restaurant and flicked his mom off. After this, the woman was trying to reason with him, "no you really shouldn't be walking around the mall by yourself. could you please come back in the restaurant?"

She should have taken his gameboy away or something.

8:23 AM - Hello!

So far it's been a quiet morning. Well other than one little annoying thing...

There's a CS 1110 (first programming class in the computer science program) lab at 8 am. The TA brought a student over that is having login problems. You see he never logged into the Linux machines before since this is the first lab he attended in the semester.

He'll go far...

7:56 PM - Intelligent Design?

Senator Frist has stated his support for teaching intelligent design in public schools. Supporters of intelligent design will tell you it's a scientific alternative to evolution. The basic theory is this... nature is too organized and complicated to have been created randomly. The basic argument is that some intelligent being had to design nature.

Problem is how do you proof there is a god or goddess?

The "intelligent being" must be a being with greater power than us, i.e. God.

Strange this scientific theory sounds like what I learned in sunday school about the world being created in seven days. My bad, six days and God rested on the seventh.

9:24 AM - (no subject)

I'm waiting for Luke to arrive so we can have lunch. Today is slightly better than yesterday. I don't know how much that actually says.

11:57 AM - Here's something funny

"Dear applicants,

The webmaster position for the choral studies website has been filled. Thank you very much for applying. We will keep your resumes on file. Best wishes to you in the fall semester.

Sincerely,
JLR"

Can I reply "please don't keep my resume"?

10:04 AM - So... life sucks, what's new

I didn't get the job. Well I'm not 100% certain since I have no received a rejection letter, but I'm 99.9% certain due to the fact I haven't heard shit.

I "interviewed" for a "scholorship" from the department of music to re-design one of their sites. Ha. Let's just say I'm not redesigning and updating a site for only $500 a semester. Frankly, I'm insulted and I feel I wasted my time. The music department was vague in their description and were not upfront about the pay. There's way too much work associated with a website for only $500 a semester.

Looks like I'll be working at DOSA this year. At least there will be more Mac stuff to do.

8:06 AM - Like the new look, waiting on a Dell tech

I'm waiting on a Dell tech (my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world). If a co-worker doesn't arrive in time, I will be stuck dealing with a really bitchy department instead of getting Mac work done.

The Dell tech told me the earliest he'll be here is 11:45 so I'm guessing I sit around and catch up on helpdesk email, etc... After the tech leaves, I grab some lunch. It will be nice. :)

Still waiting to hear from the Dean's office. Just wish he'd send out a yes or no on the job. I'm sick of waiting. I don't care what the answer is. I just want one.

Also, it looks like my mom will be going to Canada next week. :) Very nice for me. She doesn't call as often.

10:38 AM - Summer of Code

I'm just waiting for my rejection letter from Google. I haven't been contacted by KDE so I'm pretty sure I'm getting an automated rejection letter tomorrow. Actually I wish they'd send the damn things out already.

12:47 AM - I feel so exhausted...

I'm at work and feeling quite old. The sad thing is that I know I have a ton of shit to do after my official work day ends. This sucks.

The last few days have been crazy. I don't feel like going into the whole thing quite yet. I should post something later.

8:03 AM - Big Endian, Little Endian - No Indian

Sorry, that was a really bad computer pun. We're officially Tilak-free. Now some other poor, unsuspecting people must deal with him. :)

Well actually I need to send him his paperwork when it arrives at the office, but whatever. If I forget, he could go back to India (that's not a very nice thought and would not generate positive karma).

Luke's at home and I miss him quite a bit. I hope he feels well enough to come into work.
