11:55 AM - My New Mac Pro

The "basic" migration from the old mac to the new mac is over.  I moved my music, pictures, movies, etc...

More importantly I moved the essential household data.  I had to buy a new version of Quicken for the Mac - which by the way they charge $70!

Seriously, this is the main reason I don't get crazy about upgrading Quicken.  It costs way too freaking much.  Plus I still have to manually handle some of the accounts.  It really sucks.  But I can stare at my negative net worth and just sigh.  Most of my negative net worth is due to my student loans.  How fun.

Yeah - that's a good idea!  Rumor has it, that an upcoming game title (RPG) will allow you to father a children or get pregnant (if you're playing a female character).  Apparently some strange "mini-game" is needed to trigger this.

11:14 AM - Nice weekend but weird

The tax return arrived so shortly Luke and I will be ordering my new computer.  I am getting so excited about getting a new Intel Mac Pro!

Luke sort of had a crappy weekend in other ways.  He was working on a programming assignment with very vague specifications.  Plus his grandmother was at his aunt's house, and he really felt like they sort of brushed him off.  The history between Luke and his family is way too complex to describe in a blog entry.  Though I tend to walk around with this feeling that at one time I didn't help the situation, however nothing I can do at this point can really influence the situation.

Luke's dad "bought" a new car.  By "bought" I mean Luke's grandmother gave him the money since the man has been out of work for a year and a half (minus some very, very short term employment).

It's really sad.  Luke and I have completely paid for our last two cars (we took sole responsibility for payments).

Luke's Buick we paid for half of it (the other half was a wedding gift).  The 96 Saturn was a graduation gift.  The 98 Saturn we took a loan out for and the 2005 Ion we got a lease (and make the payments all by ourselves).

Luke is his father's son and is more of an adult.  His dad bitches and moans about his situation.  "I can't get a good paying job without a degree" - Ok, go get one.  The man could have had sophomore standing by now.  Heck he might even had had junior standing if they counted his banking certificate.

The music industry is not making as much because they're releasing crap and calling it music.

Also, the only reason the music labels want iTunes opened up is so they can dump iTunes, and sell music at whatever markup they want to.

Stop treating your customers like criminals and stop trying to sell us crappy music.

The only time MSNBC shows a picture of Stallman, it is when he's in Cuba pushing open source?

1:05 PM - Ummm.... now what would lactivists say to this?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17032893/

You know the woman shouldn't have been doing drugs and taking care of an infant. But at some point you wonder if the idea that breast milk is the best for infants should have a * next to the information.

I think women should be made aware that in some cases breast milk is bad.

I'm curious if she ever had her milk tested by a doctor or if a doctor recommended that she breast feed.
