Purse hooks! These great handbag hangers come in really eye-catching, sleekly modern designs and are sure make a big impression anywhere you go.  Celebrating handbags for a good cause, women from all over the Los Angeles area congregated in style at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the Lupus LA Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon. The highlight of the afternoon was the silent auction, where high-end designer purse hooks were placed inside designer handbags previously owned by talented beauties such as Katy Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sharon Stone, and Jennifer Aniston, and auctioned off to the very lucky highest bidders. Notable guests included Meredith Monroe, Joanna and Marta Krupa, Christine Devine, Carolyn Folks, Gloria Allred, and Bryon Allen.  The luncheon also included a Neiman Marcus fashion show! From Prada to Gucci and Versace, interestingly embellished bags have been spotted across the map lately. Whether they're covered in fun studs, adorned with tassels, or covered in zippers, bags have become increasingly funky. One of our favorite collections is the one from Prada's Spring 2012 RTW collection, shown in Milan. The adorable pastel bags were covered in studs, which gave them a fabulous edge. Touted down the runway by models wearing feminine yet urban creations, they're perfect for fashionistas from Manhattan to LA!

Another trendy embellishment is tassels, as seen in Gucci's Spring 2012 RTW show, also in Milan. Gucci went a different route, using chain handles, tassels, and gold lamination to achieve a look of glamour mixed with a fashionable edge. Gucci's mixture of embellishments was an utter success, the bags are fashion-forward, pretty, and incredibly covetable.

Our final embellishment isn't so much an embellishment as it is a feature: skins. Rather than sticking with plain old leather, skins like crocodile and lizard are back, and in a big way for designer handbags and purse hooks. We're sticking them in with cool embellishments because the skin itself is an embellishment. It adds glamour to an outfit just like metal hardware does, and when you add the two together, along with different leathers, it's almost too much chic to handle!
