It is reported that Apple is prepping to release a white iPhone
4 within the next few weeks, according to reports. The white iPhone
4 will cease to play hide-and-seek as Apple will start selling the
elusive device by the end of this month. And Bloomberg reported
that the white iPhone 4 will be available on both AT&T and
Verizon networks.
The fabulous-looking elegant white iPhone 4 by Apple hasn't
actually made it to the streets yet, and while restless Apple
fanatics are dying to get their hands on one, Apple has been
procrastinating the white iPhone 4 launch. With the white iphone 4
release, we can still convert our
dvd to iphone 4 even with
a surprised visual effect.
Even as reports of its Spring launch surfaced by the way of
an official confirmation from Apple's Phil Schiller, Apple did not
bother to give us a concrete release date. Well, that is acceptable
to an extent considering the issues that plagued its launch.
But, the delay has been too long, and has attained maturity.
It has saturated with time. But now, as we were beginning to let it
go, yet another report ascertaining its Spring launch breaks into
the daylight. And it datelines April 26th to be that blessed day.
Another area where the white iPhone 4 may see upgrades is in
camera quality.
It's no secret that the camera in iphone 4 is widely
considered to be the finest among all smartphones. Yet it comes as
a surprise that the iPhone's 5-megapixel shooter is among the most
popular cameras on flickr.com, a website with a vibrant community
of serious photographers. According to the latest statistics
available at Flickr.com, iPhone is second in among most popular
cameras, bested only by Nikon's venerable D90. It is possible that
Apple may enhance the camera specifications to match its rivals
now. The earlier iPhone 3G version had a 3MP camera which Apple
increased to 5MP in iPhone 4.
It looks like the point-and-shoot camera is quickly heading
to the gadget graveyard. May it rest in peace next to your old VCR,
Sony Walkman and Atari game console.
According to a series of graphs that show the top cameras
used on Flickr, the social photo Web site, the iPhone 4 is quickly
becoming the No. 1 camera among its users. The graphs include the
camera of any Flickr member who has uploaded at least one photo or
video over the last year.
"The graphs show the number of Flickr members who have
uploaded at least one photo or video with a particular camera on a
given day over the last year," Flickr says on the page where it
ranks popular cameras.
Flickr said last year that its users were uploading 130
million photos to the site each month. Flickr doesn't offer precise
information about the number of photos or percentage share for each
camera.
There have been reports that the next iPhone will include a
Sony 8-megapixel camera, which could signal trouble for the digital
S.L.R.'s too. For now, it's the point-and-shoot cameras that are
being battered by the smartphone.
As you can see from the graph below, the most popular
point-and-shoot cameras have been plummeting in popularity for the
past several months and show no sign of recovering.
"The graphs are only accurate to the extent that we can
automatically detect the camera used to take the photo or shoot the
video (about 2/3rds of the time). That is not usually possible with
cameraphones, therefore they are under-represented," states the
note on Flickr.
