It is really an explosive news that A New York-based designer has invented a solar-powered bikini so wearers can charge their iPod or camera as they lie in the sun.
Named the iKini, the item of clothing is comprised of USB ports and photovoltaic panels sewn together with conductive thread, according to the Clean Energy Authority.
The iKini was designed by Andrew Schneider, 30, and is currently being sold tailor-made and custom-built for $200 (£125).  How can we believe? Do you think it a great discovery? Do you want to hit the beach with your ipod to have a try?
Andrew Schneider, a 30-year-old abandoned his original plan of a beer-cooling bikini when he couldn't rein in enough solar power. He then realized that he could generate enough power to charge his iPod. Owing to have this idea, he  sewed together 40 paper-thin photo-voltaic panels together with soft conductive thread to produce his iKini which comes complete with USB ports sewn into the fabric. Mr Schneider told the International Business Times that he came up with the idea during a brainstorming session at New York University.
The suit is a custom made bikini swimsuit retrofitted with 1″ x 4″ photovoltaic film strips sewn together in series with conductive thread. The cells terminate in a 5 volt regulator into a female USB connection. Don't worry guys! The male version of the Solar Bikini (coming soon) called the iDrink, features a greater surface area which equals more output voltage. This additional juice is used to power a 1.5 amp peltier junction which cools a single beer in a custom coozy. Double cool!
