4:47 AM - Why Los Angeles Locksmith Is In Dilemma?

A new apprenticeship framework for locksmith has been announced by Skills for Security, an organization that sets standard for the private security business sector. The framework lays down the skills, knowledge and understanding that employees require to work as Los Angeles locksmith. It is meant to support locksmith companies that look to take on a new apprentice and encourage current employees to develop their skills. The framework was produced in partnership with the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) and leading employers. This moment of launching the apprenticeship framework has been positive for the MLA and the industry. This has been a culmination of years of research and collaborative effort.

The framework is an important step after developing of nationally recognized locksmith qualification that may have a significant impact on the regulation of the industry as well as providing locksmith companies with the pathway and funding to take on and develop new talent. The apprenticeship framework may assist business efficiency by creating a positive customer experience and ensuring that all new entrants to the sector are competent. An apperenticeship is a one on one relationship between the locksmith and a person who desires to learn the skills required through hands on training. The lessons are learned by observing the moments of a senior locksmith that may be explained.

Over regulation by the state may makes a Los Angeles locksmith feel his hands tied behind his back.  Taking on an apprentice adds to expenses as besides missing cut keys that end up in the recycling bucket, the apperentice is also to be licensed at no small cost.  There was a time when a young person used to train in the shop in various tasks related to locksmith work and were allowed to practice on customer;s property. All that went wayside when the state decided what was best for safety of the society. This was also done by the same Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) and Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) who screwed up the locksmith industry by demanding state license.

At present, the locksmith needs to renew their license every 2 years. But, they should have 6 years duration similar to a driver's license. Locksmith licenses cost roughly $500; nothing less than a tax on an individual's ability to earn money in his/her chosen field.  The tax is much more than the secretarial cost to manage the issuance of the license.  A driver's license usually costs $50-$60 dollars and so there is no reason why a locksmith should pay more for the license.
