5:22 AM - Experience star wars on your own Blu-ray home cinema systems
What are you waiting for? A movie, a concert, or a grand party?
If you have no ideas until now, you can take into account watching
a
blu
ray movie on
your computer, it will be also a nice weekend for
you.
As an insider, I am very happy to learn that It's been a
while coming, but George Lucas's seminal sci-fi films (and the
other three) are now out on Blu-ray with the long-awaited release
of
Star
Wars:
The Complete Saga which hits stores tomorrow.
The set includes each of the films - Star Wars: A New Hope,
The Empire Strikes Back, Return
of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack of
the Clones and Revenge of the Sith - plus over 40 hours of extras.
So clear your diary for next weekend, bookend it with a couple of
duvet days, don your Vader costume and settle in for
the Star Wars marathon to end them all.
The super-keen can head down to the official Australian
launch at JB HI-F in The Strand Arcade at Pitt St
Mall, which kicks off at 6am. Wearing an
Imperial Stormtrooper outfit is optional, but presumably
recommended.
Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray is $139.95, though
you can currently snag it at JB Hi-Fi for $119. Who wouldn't pay
that to see
Jabba the Hutt in HD? Watch episode previews
and play free Star Wars games from the TV show. Anakin, Ahsoka,
Obi-Wan and rest of the Jedi Knights lead the Clone army of the
Republic against General Grievous and the evil forces of the
Separatists.
The Star Wars saga continues with the
animated series Star Wars: The
Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. May the Force
be with you!
Recently, it is reported that it is Pioneer, maker of
fantastic
home entertainment kit, has added four new Blu-ray
home
cinema
systems to its line-up of covetable black, shiny
things. What we've actually got is two systems with different
speaker options. In this case we can watch
blu ray movie on our
own
home cinema system then.
In the basics range, you get the same Blu-ray playback,
combined performance and speaker configurations - with the 414's
four tall speakers and the 212's compact set-up.
To save money, the basics series doesn't
support an iPod/iPhone cradle or Wi-Fi connectivity and comes with
a chunkier subwoofer. Plus, all the new Pioneer systems let you
watch
YouTube videos and browse Picasa albums
without a PC - the icing on the stylish
home cinema cake.
