It is about a girl Rhoda Williams who hits the car at an intersection, putting John Burroughs' family hurt after she dinks. She killed John's wife and son and stayed in the prison for four years. After she came out from the prison, she is very guilty and becomes a cleaner at a school to punish what she has done. She visits John's home and wants to apologize for the harm she did to him, but she lost her courage and pretends the cleaner to offer one free cleaning day. During the cleaning period, she helps John to become optimistic and create his music again and John loves the girl. From TV Rhoda knows there maybe another earth in the space and she applies to be one of the first explorers to travel to the other earth and she wins the chance.

In the end, when John knows she is the one who killed his wife and son, he can't forgive her. At the same time, Rhoda knows there maybe the things that the identical people in the another earth do can change, so she gives the ticket to John and tell him that his wife and son might be alive on that planet. John accepts the gift and Rhoda eases herself. So it is a happy ending.
